In the aftermath of a packed few weeks looking ahead to piles of work where I should have scheduled some genuine rest, I’ve decided to finally take the advice to blog. Don’t expect any kind of actual quality however. I see this more as a casual update page. Something that might help me in the future if I want to document things that, at the time, I didn’t see the merit in documenting. I expect it will be *so* informal that these posts will be unedited first drafts. So, sorry.
Artica and the Shaw Art Fair are over. Perennial’s ReDesign Showcase project and the Artist Inc Fellowship are still in progress, both about half way through. Classes chug on like usual. And I’ve got a camping trip, trip to Louisville, trip to explore abandoned spaces, and the Cherokee Print Bazaar on the horizon. Plus my annual Halloween Party. I’m trying to keep up with my monthly 2d image creation goals within all this but last night at the workshop one of the facilitators mentioned that she no longer will sacrifice herself for her art. I think I need to reflect on that a bit.
For now though, I’ll keep cleaning components, untangling wires, and sketching and dreaming about projects I probably don’t have the funds or lifespan to complete. All while wondering if what I’m doing is going to be enough to stave off regret when the world around me has stopped burning. Here’s hoping that it someday will.
